How long have you been playing guitar?
Ghode
Well, I think i started playing when I was around 9-10 years old. I remember stealing my brothers acoustic guitar and trying to play various metallica and
guns n roses licks. When i was 14 years old i got a summer job at Volvo. I used the money i earned that summer to buy an electric guitar, a cheap fender copy.
After a while i switched to a Fender Standard series guitar.

You have an interesting way of playing guitar, mixing country, blues and metal. How did you develop your style of playing?
Ghode
My brother listened alot to early Dire Straits recordings when i was growing up and I got rather influenced by their (Mark Knopfler’s) style. After a while I got into Eric Johnson and tried to adapt some ideas from his style and approach to my style, that’s when i started playing with a pick. Due to my early Dire Straits influences, chicken-picking and banjo-roles where quite natural in my style. Turned out this produced a rather cool sound when playing metal solo’s.

Any other influences?

I listen alot to Black Label Society, Maiden and Country guitarists.
